Phil Wilson

Phil commenced work in the retail sector in Dunedin in 1975, while part way through his law degree. He continued studying law part-time at Otago University, managing a growing Mitre 10 hardware business at the same time. Moving to Queenstown in 1981, the father-of-five finished his law degree two years later.
In Queenstown Phil continued in business running successful hardware, timber and electronics businesses.

In 1994, Phil commenced practising law full time and in 2002 opened the Queenstown office of AWS Legal where he remains in practice today..

A former Queenstown Lakes District Councillor, Phil's strong community involvement includes past President of Queenstown Lions and has previously served as Chairman of the St Joseph’s School Board of Trustees and President of the Queenstown Bridge Club. He is currently Secretary of the Wakatipu Rugby Club, and Secretary of the Fiordland South Fishing Club.

In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, with boating, fishing, rugby, and thoroughbred racing among his interests.
