What are the Westpac Queenstown Business Excellence Awards?
Queenstown Chamber of Commerce established the Business Awards in 1993 to celebrate success and promote excellence amongst businesses in the Wakatipu. Since then, the Awards have been held each alternate year.
What will I get out of entering?
It provides you with an opportunity to promote and focus your business. You may also be a prizewinner! Past winners regularly talk about how entering these Awards have helped boost their business profile.
What is the cost?
There is no cost for entering if you are already a member of the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce. If you are not a member you are most welcome to enter with a payment of $300 + GST, which includes membership of the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce for one year.
How much time will it take to put my entry together?
If you already have business and marketing plans, you’ll be able to use the information in those documents. If not, this is a great opportunity to get all your essential business information on paper. Some businesses will have prepared their info for events such as TRENZ.
Is my entry confidential?
It is completely confidential. The only people who see your entry are the members of the judging panel. Judges individually sign a total confidentiality agreement.
Who are the judges?
A panel of experienced business people convened by the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce will judge the Awards. The judges reserve the right to decide on the number of finalists for each award based on the quality of entrants. The judges reserve the right to reassign entries into alternate categories. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Do I have to attend the Awards dinner?
It is recommended that all entrants attend the Gala Dinner of the year. Winners are advised of their success at the Gala Dinner. The dress code is formal and it is a great opportunity to entertain clients and reward your staff by inviting them to join you.
How can I use this opportunity to promote my business more effectively?
Sponsors and contestants will have the opportunity to set up an interesting display featuring their business enterprise at the awards. Your media statement can also assist in the promotion of your business. If you are one of the winners expect excellent publicity.
